These recordings were made by Alex Schroedsen in the company of Jordan Strom (Static Flange) during the evening of March 9th 2017. They are recordings from the YMF724 chip. Volume changes were done at 32-bit precision with no resampling or other post processing of any kind. The original recordings had very small file sizes, this is because these recordings have no noise in them, only the music. In one case, before volume changes Acid Tracker was only 8.83MB for 3:39 of lossless 48-khz 16-bit stereo. This extremely efficient recording is a phenomena that I seldom see. This is the format that I have long-wanted Diode Milliampere's music presented as. It is an honor to be the one to present his music in this manner. Enjoy the music and bask in the glory of absolutely pure OPL-3, the only limit is in your playback hardware ~and your imagination~. The original flac files can be found in bonus .zip.txt files by removing the .txt extension that arrive with purchase and download of the album.

A full size uncompressed picture of the card that these recordings were captured from (which is also the album art) has been added as a bonus item as of 11:45AM 3/9/2018.

Apart from the fact that 'Reach for the Stars' is a perfect example of everything I love about computer music, the whole album is just an absolute belter of a piece of work. The soaring pitch-bent melodies and arpeggios, the basslines that make me want to dig out Thunderforce IV and the fact that (I don't say this lightly) some of the arrangements and progressions remind me heavily of Tim Follin. An utterly exceptional piece of work. Pure gold. Remote_
